The Night Sky
Throughout the night sky within Volaris, many different stars and constellations can be seen at any time of the year. Seasonally, there are a handful of these notable clusters that carry meaning to many of the denizens of the world. Some can be seen during the day, and others were considered way points to the travellers of old. Tales of these constellations are still told, though the story may vary by each household, there are some concepts behind them that are accepted across the board.

Large, shaped like the curved stem of a Lily of the Valley, with four bells.
How it got it’s name
It’s said King Desmond, First of his name, would keep a private garden of these flowers for his late wife. She loved them so, the king had court astronomers dedicate stars to her favorite flower to honor her.

Hanati’s Blade
Shape/Size
A large and expansive gathering of eight stars that appear like clashing swords
How it got it’s name
The warrior Hanati was believed to be a great teacher of many who sought the way of the sword and upon his death, all his pupils pleaded with the Old God to immortalize his soul for all future generations to be guided by. Moved by their cries and kindness, the Crossroads came to be born across the night sky.

Those born under this sign are considered natural guides, often at the center of other’s decisions and transitional periods. They are thoughtful and steady, said to weigh each decision before making them. Their strength lies in mentorship and guidance of others, but often struggle with unplanned changes.

A creature that befriended early humanity as it swam amongst the clouds. It would herald the coming of rain in seasons of drought, even long after it’s passing, said to be the guardian of the living.

How it got it’s name
In his last act of defiance, it’s said that an Oceanic Shifter’s king javellined his Trident into the cosmos as he was usurped. Denying the false heir the sign of true royalty.

Those born under the Trident are no nonsense, and direct. Their minds are sharply aimed tridents capable of great scholarly and tactical feats. Unsurprisingly, they often are maliciously called ‘skewers’

How it got it’s name
It was said this constellation was once an unbroken ring of stars when the Old God was alive, painted to show a promise to the races of the world. When the collapse came,many rumour that the sky itself weeped hellfire and not even the heavens were unscathed, as evident by the now shifted stars.

Those born under this sign are said to carry a peculiar brilliance, shaped by hardships and resilience. They are said to be introspective, often feeling torn between who they were, who they are, and who they want to be. They have pride in themselves which can sometimes be misconstrued as arrogance around those they are not familiar.

It’s said that many generations ago, an Astral Enkindled known as Soruya immortalized her familiar’s soul within the stars above, so that he may always fly free and watch over her even after death.

Those born under Soruya’s Sparrow are said to be freebirds, never knowing the weight of consequences or strife. They make excellent opportunists, and tend to see only the positives of situations.
