Children of the Forest

“Be careful not to disturb the cycle of nature. The trees hear all, and the grass sing hymns to all those who wrong the forest.”



The epitome of growth, learning, and mischief, the Children of the Forest represent a perpetual cycle long undermined in nature and a primal mischief akin to youth. A Faithful to the Children could easily be mistaken as a Fae, due to the unpredictable nature of their gospel.

The Children’s Faithful are said to be creatures unnatural, taking shapes of forgotten mythical beasts that nature has long since shrouded to time. To them, it’s child's play. To their adversary, it’s the making of a fable.



Passives
Faithful of The Children of the Forest receive the following developing passive:

Initiate:

God’s Own - The Faithful may re-roll any single Stealth or Survival roll they make once every 24 OOC hours.

Hero:

Childlike Innocence - The Faithful finds all animals, insects, beasts and monsters of the world are disinclined to harm them unless the Faithful harms them first. (This does not include creatures from the hells/void/other planes, nor Player Characters)

Champion:

Mischief Manifest - The Faithful may impose disadvantage on everyone around them (Involved in an event/encounter/combat) once per 24 OOC hours.

Description: The Faithful attacks a target by making a Scripture Roll which the target may defend against. If the target fails, they will take a Minor Wound and must roll a D6 to receive an effect:

  4. Poisoned
  5. Penance
  6. Hastened

Description: The Faithful teleports themselves and up to one other through the hidden woodland paths of the CotF using a Scripture Roll. This allows the two to teleport up to 25 Blocks. When the Faithful repositions, the sound of pan pipes will play at their new location.

(This movement is unaffected by effects)

Scripture Roll: Mind + Faith
Description: The Faithful touches the ground to summon a peaceful spirit by making a Scripture Roll. This spirit will aid the Faithful passively in ways such as carrying items or listening to conversations.

Wind Walk - The spirit is able to move quickly to not be seen by others. They do so by teleporting up to 15 Blocks per turn and will not be obstructed by obstacles.
