Faithful Rank Up Goals​

For The Faithful to rank up, they must meet a specific criteria to do so. This may depend on the deity they worship. This can also depend on who is involved or what action they are willing to take.

Per Rank Up Tier there is an OOC wait time. During this time, you may request a goal that must be completed before another rank-up can be requested.

Generic Goals - There are goals to choose from which can be chosen no matter what deity you worship. Depending on your devotion, you may flavor these as you wish, within reason. The Generic Goals are within each Rank section.

Custom Goals - If you feel as though your character does not fall into the Generic goals, they can be used as examples to create your own goal. The criteria to be met is as follows:
  • The goal must be objectively difficult to complete but not too difficult to deem impossible. For example, as an Initiate, we will not allow “Grow a flower” for a devotee of The Mother to rank up. Nor will we allow “Revive a dead body that lived fifty years ago” as this would be impossible for an Initiate to complete.
  • The goal must be acceptable for your deity. Unless this is a generic goal, your goal should not be used by another God’s devotee. For example, a goal specific to The Dragon can not be used for The Mother, etc.

How to Request a Rank-Up Goal​

For Rank-ups of any kind, you will need to upload your goal request to the “Faithful Rank-Ups” topic as a new thread. You will be expected to provide the goal(s) you wish to take or the custom goal you would like to request. The format we would like to see this in is shown below.

You may also include the Goal Requirement in your Faithful profile on the forums once it is approved.

Once your goal has been accepted, we will be expecting screenshots of the encounters you take to prove that you have achieved this goal.​

Goal Layout:
Goal Title: [The name of your goal]
Branch: [This can be “Generic” or a God]
Aspiring Rank: [The rank you will receive upon completion]
Goal Requirement: [The main aim of the goal - what is the basic concept?]
Min-Max No of Involved Beings: [How many people can be involved in this?]
Duration: [How many encounters or hours would need to be spent on the goal?]
Duration Enhancements/Regressions: [Are there any requirements that can affect the duration?]
Description: [What are you expecting to happen during your goal? What needs to be done to achieve success?]

If your goal is completed and the screenshots are deemed sufficient, you will have officially ranked up and can add this to your Faithful Profile!​
 

Initiate (Rank 1)​

By showing their dedication in various ways, The Faithful proves their loyalty to their deity. Their dedication and appreciation is rewarded with a journey. A power. A symbol to continue. To show how far their loyalty truly lies.

Vitality Pool - The Faithful’s magic is born, harnessing a pool of 4 Vitality.

Learning Scriptures - As their mind unlocks, the knowledge bestowed upon them grants the ability to perform Level 1 scriptures.


The following section consists of the typical way for an Aspiring Faithful to Brand.

The goal you wish to take must be stated within your Rank Up thread. If you have any questions regarding what it possible, please state these in your rank up request or in a Systems Ticket within the Discord.

PLEASE NOTE: If you fail your Branding Event, you must wait 2 OOC Weeks before reapplying.

Goal Title: The Words Of Faith
Branch: [Your Chosen Deity]
Aspiring Rank: Initiate, 1
Goal Requirement: Tell your deity what they want to hear.
Min-Max No of Involved Beings: 1
Duration: DM'ed Branding Event
Duration Enhancements/Regressions: If the requirements of the event are not met, and are avoided, you may Fail.
Description: Please provide a suitable description containing a brief idea on how you would like your event to go, including any key details.
Examples depend on which God you worship, where some may accept you depending on your feats, achievements, knowledge or devotion. Deities look for those who will favor them, providing a use for being given their divinity. You may want to research into your path before taking your event.

Acolyte (Rank 2)​


By proving their devotion to their God, The Faithful is blessed with more knowledge and power. This knowledge is something to be spread - to satisfy their deity with more followers.​

Vitality Pool - The Faithful’s magic grows, doubling their pool of Vitality to 8.

Learning Scriptures - As their mind unlocks, the knowledge bestowed upon them grants the ability to perform Level 1-2 scriptures.


The following section consists of the three generic RankUp goals that any Initiate-Level Faithful may choose from.

Additionally, Custom Goals must be of the same format and on par in terms of difficulty. (To do so, please make an application on the forums under “Faithful Rank-Ups”. We are also here to help with any additional queries. If you have an idea you are confused or hesitant on, send it our way!)​

Goal Title: Welcomed to the Faith
Branch: Generic
Aspiring Rank: Acolyte, 2
Goal Requirement: Convert another to worship your Deity
Min-Max No of Involved Beings: 1 Teacher (The Faithful) 1 Other
Duration: 5 RP Sessions
Duration Enhancements/Regressions:
  • Converting someone to a faith who holds none to begin with [No change]
  • Converting someone who worships another God [-1 Session]
  • Converting an active faithful of another God [-2 Sessions] (This may result in the converted not remaining faithful)
Description:
The faithful embark on a journey to spread their faith, helping guide another to find what they have in their chosen God. This Goal does not require the converted to enter into the Faithful System, but should result in them ICly worshiping the same deity as the Faithful.
Goal Title: To Raise a Shrine
Branch: Generic
Aspiring Rank: Acolyte, 2
Goal Requirement: The construction of an in-game shrine to your Deity
Min-Max No of Involved Beings: 1-X
Duration: 3 RP sessions
Duration Enhancements/Regressions:
  • If working in a larger group who could feasibly reduce the amount of time needed to construct a shrine, then the number of sessions may be adjusted by Story Team
Description:
The Faithful sets out to raise a personal shrine to their God, in a place of importance to them. There are no set size or structural rules a shrine must follow, but they must be within a character’s ability to construct and within the theming of the God in question. Once a shrine is constructed, the Faithful may leave offerings upon/within it for their Deity.
Your Deity must approve of your shrine. If they are to feel insulted, there will be consequences.
Goal Title: A Celebration of Faith
Branch: Generic
Aspiring Rank: Acolyte, 2
Goal Requirement: Host an event for your Deity
Min-Max No of Involved Beings: 1 Host + X Attendants
Duration: 1 Large scale event
Duration Enhancements/Regressions: N/A
Description:
The Faithful must hold a significant event for their Deity, be this:
  • A harvest festival for the Mother
  • A tournament for the Tactician
  • A trade market for the Dragon.
Each event can be unique and individual, and does not need to be a public affair, so long as the tenants of the Deity are represented in the Event.
