Ignition
The “Arcane” as people know is an ancient power that derives from the soul of a slumbering god. Those who are able to control these otherworldly powers are called the Enkindled. Ignition has long been studied in the past by those seeking to understand and unlock the secrets to magic, yet none have fully documented its origin or seemingly random appearance in mortals. Few links and studies remain in attempt to explain the appearance of the Enkindled in both newborns and others who have ignited in the midst of their own demise.

It was found that when an Enkindled used their power, the amount of Astrium found within samples lowered considerably. Igniting Initiates (Level 1)
When one becomes ignited through various means, their mind is unlocked and they can begin to understand the secrets of the world. Many of the Enkindled seek to perfect their craft through study, practice, and experimentation.
However, initiating this awakening is not something considered easy. Whether through heritage or a disaster, the future Enkindled had been destined to withstand an experience close to the doors of death. Every Enkindled being will be able to tell a tragic story of how magic first ignited inside of them - how Astrium first began flowing through their veins. Some may question if it is even possible for an Enkindled to be ignited without any means of suffering.

Elemental Magic is unique from the other branches in the sense that those who seek this path must seal a contract with an elemental spirit. This provides no additional difficulty or requirements beyond aesthetics.

The Levels of Kindling
Aspiring - Level 0
- Cannot learn any spells.
- Astrium pool = 0
- Can learn all Level 1 spells.
- Astrium pool = 4
- Can learn the five cantrips
- May use 2 Custom Spells

Learned Spells
- Enkindled have access to all spells within their school(s) / branches of magic.
- This includes all spells from each level until now, including custom spells.
Astrium Pool
- Astrium, in OOC fashion, is another term for Mana or Stamina.
- This acts as the general energy to consume when casting a spell.
- Your Astrium Pool is the maximum amount of Mana you can hold at a time.
Custom Spells
- Enkindled can create custom spells, two with each level.
- These can be taught exclusively, or turned into public spells for anyone to use.
- Each Enkindled can have up to 10 custom spells, further spells must be public.
Astrium & Spell Cost
To cast a spell, you are required to spend an amount of Astrium. This value is determined by the Level of the spell where,

- Level 1 - Initiate Enkindled Astrium pool: 4

Astrium Regeneration:
- An Enkindled's natural Astrium Pool refreshes once every 24 OOC hours.
- However, an Enkindled may also regenerate Astrium through the use of their Rest Action. In combat this is done through your main Action (more information on this is in the Enkindled Cantrips page).
An Enkindled can also cast a basic touch-range magic attack via [Body+Arcana] roll. This costs no Astrium, acting as a basic attack method with no unique effects.

If magic is used for aesthetic purposes, you will not need to consume Astrium. If you are unsure on whether your usage is for aesthetic purpose or not, it is encouraged that you make a ticket to the Systems team!
Transfigurations
All Enkindled possess some form of visible transfiguration on their bodies, often ranging in unique cases between each of them. Such examples follow as glowing eyes, strange bodily markings, hair made of mystical energies, and several other possibilities. However, the Enkindled possess the ability to suppress this alteration at will, blending in with the mundane individuals around them.
All players are required to keep track of their level, spells, and progress within their affliction profile, as well as any other status affecting their character. It’s suggested to keep a link to your affliction profile when joining an event for quick reference or for DM information. Characters that have not yet reached maturity cannot enter systems.
